On your 2 days tour from Errachidia to Merzouga, a driver from Morocco Holiday Tours will pick you up from your hotel at 9:00 a.m. Along the way, you'll stop for a panoramic view of the Ziz valley, the second-longest and one of the most picturesque valleys in Morocco.
On the way to the Erg Chebbi dunes, you'll travel via Aoufous and Erfoud, a town known for its fossils and where you may attend an annual festival if you're interested in visiting a local workshop that makes fossil crafts. The gorgeous Erg Chebbi dunes, often known as the Merzouga Dunes, will be your next stop. Get ready for an hour and a half of camel trekking when you arrive at the hotel.
During this time, you may see the sunset, try sandboarding if you're interested, snap photographs, and enjoy the scenery... As the sun sets, your camel ride takes you farther into the desert to your camp. Once there, you'll be served mint tea and a hearty meal. In the evening, you may listen to the rhythms of the Berber drums, gaze up at the starry sky, and sleep in for the night.
We recommend getting up early the next day to see the sunrise from atop a dune near the camp in the Sahara Desert. After that, you may have breakfast and a shower at the camp. After you've had your fill of these breathtaking sights, you may either ride your camel back to where you began your journey or take a 4WD back to your starting point.
